Schooner Thomas Lannon
Sailing Charters aboard a traditional Gloucester Schooner Building The Thomas Lannon was the dream of Tom Ellis, her captain, and Gloucester native. With designs drawn by Harold Burham, a lot of helping hands and strong community approval, the Thomas E. Lannon was launched just seven months after her keel was laid. In June of 1997, this traditional Gloucester Schooner slid into the Essex River to the cheers of a few hundred onlookers.
Cetainly one of the finest schooners you will find in New England. Built from local timber granted by the Trustees of Reservations, she's been crafted by one of the best traditional shipbuilders on the East Coast. Harold Burham carries on the family tradition of shipbuilding begun around 1650. He, together with his team of carpenters have also built the Lewis Story, the Fame and most recently, the Isabella.
The Thomas E. Lannon has been sailing New England since her launch to the pleasure of many. At sixty-five feet on deck and ninety feet overall, she's an authentic Fredonia style Gloucester Fishing Schooner. From her home port at Seven Seas Wharf on Cape Ann, she is available for day sails, lobster bakes and sailing charters.
